NED & Advisor
Every moment of an organisation is about change. Change happens on any number of levels. I work with organisations at NED or advisory level to get the fundamentals right: good governance, sound finances, due diligence, risk management, a strategy which works and a culture that includes everyone.
Guest Speaker, Panel Member & Podcaster
As a scriptwriter, drama practitioner and informal educator, I work at the intersection of both Theatre and Social Sciences, writing stories inspired by my life as a gay man – navigating the characters and roles I found myself performing to make sense of the world around me. Bringing my story to the corporate and creative sectors empowers people to make sense of their own lived experiences and voice.
MY STORY
I began my career at 12 years old, helping in the family business. Each Saturday, I sat on a wooden stool upstairs in the bakery, peeling a sack of onions, potatoes and apples in readiness for the baker to make the most delicious pies.
Afterwards, I would head downstairs to join my Dad in our Butchers shop, serving customers and listening to many stories.
Our oldest customer had shopped with my family for ninety years, first coming into my great grandparents' shop and cafe aged 10.
I learned storytelling's power to an organisation and its people, staff, stakeholders, customers, and community in this environment.
As a storyteller, my playwriting received critical acclaim in 2021. My play Virtue, A multi-layered story told through the lives of four women, was one of 50 plays officially shortlisted out of 380 submissions worldwide. It became one of 11 to receive official selection status presented as part of a new theatre festival in manchester at Hope Mill Theatre.
